Last Saturday, Believe in Scotland launched their I-Switch Campaign in Perth. We think it could herald an Energy Revolt in Scotland. Time to flip the switch, Scotland. Let’s not just change our energy provider, let’s change Scotland!

Why are Scots’ energy costs so high?
Why are Scots paying some of the highest daily standing charges despite producing so much renewable energy? So much that we more than meet our own needs?
Scotland’s soaring energy prices aren’t inevitable, they are the result of Westminster’s failed energy system. It’s time to take control of Scotland’s energy bills. Demand independence for an energy system that works for Scottish families and Scottish businesses.

i-switch means switching to independence. Energy will be massively cheaper in an independent Scotland. Westminster controls our energy market, forcing Scots to pay for the UK’s costly energy mix, including nuclear and gas, while Scotland’s wind and hydro power are sold cheaply south of the border.
The ‘i-switch’ campaign will explain how independence would give Scotland the powers to take control of its vast renewable resources, reform the energy market, and bring down costs for homes and businesses. The campaign will be designed to speak to the undecided voters through a range of content focusing on real‑life concerns rather than party politics: energy bills, fairness, and local benefit from Scotland’s natural wealth.
