We’ve joined the Social Bite September 100 Miles Fundraiser for Homelessness.
We did it last year so why not do it again? If you like to add something to our Social Bite Fundraising Page we’d be very grateful! And so will Social Bite.
40 Days – 100 Miles
We’ll be taking on the challenge to complete 100 miles for homelessness. the countdown begins on the 1st September, and we need to complete our challenge by World Homeless Day on the 10th of October.
According to Social Bite themselves the fundraising has a tangible impact on helping break the cycle of homelessness across the UK by helping them provide meals, jobs, homes, and support to people who are experiencing homelessness.
Last year Marlene had a spreadsheet to track her mileage. Of course she did!
Find out more about Social Bite . They are a charity and social business on a mission to end homelesssness. They believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home, that a job can be truly transformative for someone who has experienced homelessness, and that food is one of the most powerful tools to help signpost people to access support.
Marlene enjoys popping in for a coffee to the Glagow Social Bite Cafe at the bottom of Sauchiehall Street, just up from the Concert Hall. The coffee is excellent, she says. And you can ‘pay it forward’ which means you cover a drink, snack, or meal for someone experiencing homelessness or food poverty.
