Scottish Democracy à la Suisse? Or Taiwan? or South Korea?

Strengthening Scottish Democracy
One of the themes which emerged in this week’s podcast was the way in which Scottish democratic institutions could be strengthened. Fiona and I found ourselves delving into what other nations do to keep their democracy evolving. Here is some of what we discovered

Background to these clips:
Our podcast this week features Fiona and I talking to Leah Gunn Barrett and Andy Anderson about the possibility of incorporating the ICCPR into Scots Law. It was from this discussion that the theme of strengthening Scottish democracy emerged. The clips are from that video.
Have a listen to the podcast (or watch the video) to find out what benefits might come from Holyrood incorporating it into Scots Law. Stress the ‘might’. It’s possible but not straightforward while we are in UK. It would be a different ball game when we’re independent.
