In this series of Climate Emergency interview done in early 2020, we talked to Geraldine Clayton of Divest Strathclyde. The aim of Divest Strathclyde is to end all fossil fuel investments of the Strathclyde Pension Fund.
It’s one of the largest pension funds in UK – ?? billion – and was set up for employees of the Strathclyde Regional Council back in 1970s. Regional Councils were ended in ???? and now the Fund is the responsibility of Glasgow City Council and it’s Trustees are city councillors.
